If you need a QSO with Viet-Nam in digital modes, you will be pleased to know that Shim de XV3AA is regularly active in JT65 on 20m around 0900z. Considering that JT65 has low power requirement, this is a good opportunity to contact vietnamese amateur radio station. Check on pskreporter website for his presence.

All Asian DX Contest CW 2011

Next week-end will see participants from all over the world run in the AA DX Contest organized by JARL. You can expect stations from Vietnam to be active like last years.

As always, XV1X should be the major station. Also listen to XV4Y on 10m and 80m as he may have some spare time for a few QSOs.

Nguyen Minh Duc de XV2REH and Nguyen Bac Ai de XV2A were hosted by ARRL at Dayton Hamvention. They toured ARRL Headquarters and discussed plan for the next IARU region 3 conference.

HAM Shack rental in Viet-Nam

For a short stay and casual HAM Radio operation in Viet-Nam, the best way is to rent a shack and use the station’s callsign.

An agreement from both the VARC and the shack owner is necessary of course, but this reduce the delay needed to obtain the authorization to operate.

From now, 5 shacks are available : 2 in Hồ Chí Minh City and 1 near Củ Chi, 1 in Vũng Tàu (on the sea front) and 1 in Cần Thơ.

These last weeks many stations have been active from Viet-Nam. You could expect a strong participation to this week-end SSB contest.

XV4Y is known to be QRV for CQ WPX Contest but only with reduced time. The strongest effort should be expected from XV1X as usual. Also look for 3W3B, XV2LC, XV2W…
